She loves to Create

called home

this is matt walker. i called him mattie. he passed away on friday the 21st. it wasn't like it wasn't expected, but it still felt too soon. jeff and i just saw him at our holiday party two weeks ago and i am so grateful for that. 

mattie worked for us for about 12 years. he was an amazing employee. he was quality. he would give you his right arm if you asked. he took his job seriously and always had the companies best interest at heart. for that, jeff and i are so grateful.

mattie was our friend. he was kind hearted and loyal. he loved us and we loved him. we will miss him so very much. 

life can be so very short. a loss like this reminds us to hold our loved ones. tell them we love them often. don't take life for granted because you never know how long you will be around to enjoy it. 

we love you mattie. you will never be forgotten. you will be in our hearts forever. 

oh...and if you happen to run into my dad, please tell him i said hi! 

hockey!

we returned last night from k-falls at about 8:00pm. it was a great tournament and the weather wasn't too bad. yesterday made for the best pictures. the weekend was filled with the boys and their hockey, them sitting in our hot tub at the condo, eating out, pizza party saturday night, bonding over video games and lots of other fun. the boys took 3rd place in the tournament and did really well in my opinion! yesterday's game was a bit stressful. i wouldn't say that k-falls team was more chippy than normal, but the refs were absolutely awful. wyatt got boarded and they didn't make the call. it was probably the tenth penalty that had not been called against the other team and by then jeff lost it. he was sure someone was going to get hurt. he ended up being asked to leave the rink. wyatt was hit a second time and i'm really glad jeff wasn't there to see it. he probably would have jumped the glass! :)

a trip

this is where we are headed today. hoping for a little bit of that sunshine while we are there. 

 

this is who we are going to watch. wyatt's team only plays in one tournament each season and so far it has been the same one.....k-falls. love it there! last year i waited too long and we ended up staying in k-falls at the shiloh inn. this year, i booked much earlier and we got a chalet at the resort. should be pretty darned nice. it has a hot tub, so both jeff and wyatt will be happy campers. i'm hoping it has a washer and dryer or i'm gonna have one stinky boy by the end of the weekend. :)

i was planning on bringing my scrapbook stuff, but have thought better of it. instead, i think i'll bring a bunch of reading materials and take advantage of it. i have a book to finish for book club on the 20th and i've recently bought all kinds of inspirational books for scrapbooking and home improvement. should keep me nice and occupied!

my word for 2011

yep. that's it. create. these letters sit in my craft room above the area where i sit most often. i look at them all the time. it never occurred to me that they could mean more than creating as my passion. that's kind of silly when i think about it. for me....create will mean this to me in 2011:

create time....time for me to do things for myself, time for me to focus on me.

create passion....find that spark once again that leads to a happy me

create kindness.... in my children, in me, in my life!

create love.... this is something i will continue to do with the man i love! 

create health...... this is my year. i will be healthy, i will exercise!

create....  i will make time to create, wether it be scrapbooking or any other type of hobby, i will make time for it this year. 

so there it is. my word. it means all that and so much more to me. this IS my year.
